RIDE FOR LIFE
Ride for Life 2017
The 2017 Ride will take place on Sunday 22nd October.
We are planning that this will be the last time we have the Ride, so we would love to see as many people as possible there.
The Ride will commence at 2:00pm on the Gardiner's Creek bike path near the East Malvern Tennis Club courts (Melway 59 K10 - enter from Dunlop St). We will ride to the Federation Bells in Birrarung Marr and back to the finish point at David's old Scout Hall at 3 Oak Grove, East Malvern. Ride length is about 26 km. A shorter ride, suitable for younger children (approx. 11 km) will be held concurrently. This will start and finish at the same place as the main ride, but will go only as far as the Hawthorn velodrome.
This will be a family event and a special time to remember a special person. There are no entry fees, but there will be a gold coin sausage sizzle and orange balloons at the end.
We still have stock of our special Ride for Life cycling jerseys and polo shirts. If you would like one, please contact us prior to the ride. We want to get these jerseys and polo shirts out where they will be noticed, so we are giving them away free, or you can make a donation of whatever you would like to. See the order form (.doc 324 kB) for sizes we have.
You are welcome to come on the Ride without a jersey or polo shirt, but it would be great if you could at least wear something orange.
Put the date in your diary, and let us know you are coming (email: info(at)davidbland.com.au) , so you can be catered for.
Come join us on this ride.
The ride will suit riders of all abilities including families with young children, as long as they are confident riding on quiet streets. The route crosses most major roads at traffic lights/pedestrian crossings/bridges/underpasses.
